Slightly Poetic Thoughts

Back to The Shire

I have traveled the world

in search of Love,

only to discover

the curse of man is enmity;

discontent and covetousness

overrule the great commandment

on every shore:

he that has, takes more,

he that has not, slips away

into the darkness of fear

and subjugation;

tribal warfare is nought

but a tool used by

those blind to the log in their own eyes

to impose their sins on

weaker vessels;

to the victor goes the religion!

ahh, but there remains a hidden place;

a place far from the shores

of self-righteousness;

a place for the small and meek,

the lover of life,

and seeker of truth –

I must get back to The Shire
